A&T Technician II – Assembly & Test (1st Shift)

About the role

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group in Torrance, CA is seeking an A&T Technician II to join the Assembly and Test team on the 1st shift (6:00 am‑2:30 pm). The role focuses on precision assembly, alignment and testing of flight‑control actuators for advanced military aircraft such as the F‑35 and V‑280.

Key responsibilities

• Perform precision assembly of hydraulic, mechanical and electromechanical actuators following detailed work instructions and blueprints.
• Adjust and align components using shims, torque wrenches, fixtures and specialized measuring tools.
• Conduct functional and performance tests on production and repair units using hydraulic, mechanical and electronic test equipment.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy and document inspection results with calibrated gauges and micrometers.
• Interpret and apply engineering drawings, part numbers and revision control throughout the build process.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; ability to read and follow English work instructions.
• Minimum three years of assembly experience in mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical or electronic environments, preferably aerospace.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification is a plus; must meet FAA drug‑and‑alcohol testing requirements.
• Ability to obtain or already hold a security clearance.

Required skills

• Blueprint and technical drawing interpretation.
• Use of precision measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers and micrometers.
• Torque wrench and shimming techniques for mechanical adjustments.
• Hydraulic system assembly and testing.
• Electromechanical troubleshooting and test procedures.
• Basic computer proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
