Associate Dean of Nursing, Academic Affairs - Daytime Program

About the role

Covista, which operates Chamberlain University, is hiring a full-time Associate Dean of Nursing, Academic Affairs for its daytime program at the Houston campus. The Associate Dean manages day-to-day academic operations, supervises assigned faculty and works with the Dean on the BSN program. The expected salary range is $70,696.34 to $110,666.84, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus paid after 90 days.

Key responsibilities

• Manage faculty schedules, workload and performance, and lead performance management through observation, evaluation and feedback
• Recruit, select, onboard and retain faculty, and develop faculty performance and teaching standards
• Analyze student success data to improve curriculum delivery, labs, simulations and workshops
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards and that curriculum meets institutional standards
• Collaborate with faculty and leadership on budgets, capital requests and resource allocation
• Support clinical placement of nursing students and coordinate with other Associate Deans at the campus
• Lead program expansion, academic strategy and curriculum change, and act as liaison to boards, communities and stakeholders

Required profile

• Master's degree in nursing required; doctoral degree preferred
• Unencumbered professional nursing licensure
• 2+ years of nursing education experience at the bachelor level or above
• 2+ years in simulation and/or clinical experience development
• 2+ years of previous leadership experience
• Acute patient care experience (trauma, emergency or medical-surgical) preferred
