ArcGIS Consultant – Climate Risk Analyst

About the role

The Software Analyst will leverage ESRI ArcGIS Pro and Microsoft Excel to create detailed maps and analyze New York's climate risk, supporting the Department of Financial Services in understanding impacts on regulated entities and the communities they serve. The insights will help shape policy development.

Key responsibilities

• Source, clean, and structure data for import into ArcGIS Pro.
• Convert Excel tables, join/relate datasets, create new feature classes and layers, and produce maps.
• Analyze data using ArcGIS Pro and synthesize findings into briefing memos.
• Collaborate with DFS staff and the University of Albany climate‑hazards modeling team.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in software analysis and GIS.
• At least 5 years of geocoding and geospatial analysis experience.
• Minimum 5 years using ESRI ArcGIS Pro.
• 5+ years handling large datasets with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience sourcing publicly available data for mapping projects.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Adobe software.
• Bachelor’s degree in a GIS‑related discipline or equivalent.
• ESRI ArcGIS Pro Associate Certification.
• Ability to work 100% onsite.
