Agricultural Farm Technician

About the role

The Division of Agriculture at the University of Arkansas System is seeking a dedicated Farm Technician to support daily farm operations across multiple crop productions. This onsite role involves operating a variety of farm and heavy equipment to ensure efficient planting, maintenance, and harvest activities.

Key responsibilities

• Operate farm machinery for plowing, disking, land planning, and planting row crops such as rice, soybeans, corn, grain sorghum, wheat, and cover crops.
• Handle heavy equipment including track hoe, backhoe, road grader, and grain trucks/trailers for seed transport and grain handling.
• Perform irrigation, rouging, spraying, and harvesting tasks as needed.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and report any mechanical issues.
• Assist with field preparation and post‑harvest activities.

Required profile

• Experience or strong interest in agricultural field work.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Physical fitness to operate machinery and handle manual tasks.
