Adjunct Faculty – Dental GPR Program

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to join its Graduate Periodontal Residency (GPR) dental program. This part‑time position provides clinical instruction, supervision, and mentorship to dental residents in a hospital‑based academic setting.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee residents during clinical care hours and ensure patient safety.
• Deliver chairside teaching and case‑based instruction.
• Evaluate resident performance according to CODA accreditation standards.
• Guide residents in managing medically complex patients.
• Review and co‑sign patient records and treatment notes.
• Promote evidence‑based treatment planning and execution.

Required profile

• DDS degree and active dental licensure in the United States.
• Demonstrated clinical experience in dentistry, preferably with complex medical cases.
• Experience supervising or teaching dental residents or students.
• Ability to assess performance against CODA standards.
• Fully vaccinated against COVID‑19 or hold an approved exemption.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
