Graduate Assistant – Information Science

About the role

The Department of Information Science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock is hiring graduate assistants to support teaching and research activities. Positions are open to students enrolled in MS or PhD programs in Bioinformatics, Information Science, or related fields and are funded on an academic‑term basis.

Key responsibilities

• Assist faculty with course preparation, grading, and laboratory sessions.
• Provide instructional support to students during class and office hours.
• Conduct literature reviews, data analysis, and other research tasks for faculty‑led projects.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for research activities.
• Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to grant‑related responsibilities.

Required profile

• Currently admitted to a graduate degree (MS or PhD) in Bioinformatics, Information Science, or a closely related discipline at UA Little Rock.
• Strong academic standing and eligibility to work in the United States.
• Ability to commit to the academic‑term schedule and fulfill both teaching and research duties.
