Accountant – Houma, LA

About the role

Marine Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its Houma, LA facility. The role focuses on month‑end closing, financial reporting, budgeting, and tax compliance to support operational management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries for the month‑end closing process.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Analyze financial results and explain variances.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations.
• Assist in the annual budgeting process.
• Prepare required governmental and tax reports, including sales and use tax.
• Support other accounting duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 4‑6 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Detail‑oriented and highly organized.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
