Accountant – Full-cycle Accounting Role

About the role

Biscuits & Bath, a leading dog‑care company in New York City, is seeking a hands‑on Accountant to own day‑to‑day accounting operations. You will ensure our financial systems stay clean, accurate, and compliant as the business continues to grow.

Key responsibilities

• Own full‑cycle Accounts Payable, handling vendors, invoices, and payments.
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain cash controls.
• Manage Accounts Receivable and conduct collections follow‑ups.
• Support payroll processing and related journal entries (401k, PFL, etc.).
• Handle sales‑tax compliance filings, including quarterly and annual UBT and PTET submissions.
• Drive month‑end close activities such as accruals, prepaids, reimbursements, and schedule preparation.
• Execute year‑end processes, including 1099 issuance, 401k filings, and Form 5500.
• Maintain payment platforms (PayPal, Clover) and resolve related issues.
• Participate in ad‑hoc finance and operations projects as needed.

Required profile

• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably with multi‑location operations.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to work independently.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and deadline‑driven.
• Clear communicator and effective problem solver.
• Passion for dogs and the pet‑care industry.
