Tree Trimmer – Utility Vegetation Management

About the role

Lewis Tree Services is seeking motivated individuals to join our utility vegetation management team as Tree Trimmers. You will work outdoors, maintaining clearances around power lines and equipment while gaining hands‑on experience in tree care and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Perform ground‑level and aloft tree pruning, felling, and vegetation removal.
• Operate chainsaws, chippers, handlines, and aerial lift equipment under supervision.
• Assist with job‑site setup, rigging, traffic control, and cleanup.
• Spot and support climbers, communicate hazards, and follow safety protocols.
• Apply herbicides in accordance with company and legal guidelines.
• Drive trucks and specialized equipment; maintain required certifications.
• Participate in briefings, travel to job sites, and stay overnight when needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months experience on a tree crew as a Trimmer Trainee.
• Basic knowledge of tree species and arboriculture pruning techniques.
• Ability to work at heights using climbing gear or aerial lifts.
• Valid driver’s license, CDL, and required medical certifications.
• CPR and First Aid certification (provided by Lewis).
• Willingness to obtain and maintain herbicide‑handling training.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and situational awareness.
