Technical Sales Representative – CT or MA

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Sales Representative to join our Surventis Surface Treatment team covering New England (CT, MA, RI, ME, VT & NH). The role involves driving sales of specialty chemical solutions, building strong customer relationships, and providing technical consulting on surface‑treatment processes.

Key responsibilities

• Understand account activities, tailor sales presentations and proposals to specific customer needs.
• Manage territory profitability by reviewing margins, selecting optimal products and pricing.
• Plan weekly itineraries, call on established and prospective customers, and achieve required call volume.
• Provide technical solutions for cleaning, sanitation, and surface‑treatment challenges.
• Negotiate pricing within approved limits and maintain opportunity pipelines in Salesforce.
• Deliver product training, ensure safe use of materials, and report competitive activities.

Required profile

• BS degree in Chemistry, Business or related field (associate’s degree acceptable).
• Minimum 2 years of B2B industrial sales experience, preferably in specialty chemicals.
• Strong business acumen, negotiation and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to travel 50‑60% of the time and hold a valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Experience with Salesforce CRM for account and opportunity management.
• Technical knowledge of specialty chemical products (surface‑treatment, paint pretreatments, wastewater treatments, metalworking fluids).
• Ability to conduct technical sales presentations and write proposals.
