Tax Staff Accountant

About the role

Curative is seeking a motivated Tax Staff Accountant to join its growing tax team. This entry‑level position offers an accelerated learning experience in a fast‑moving health‑care services environment, supporting the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with the external firm on quarterly income tax provisions and federal/state tax returns.
• Ensure timely filing of consolidated tax returns, estimated payments, extensions, and other statutory filings.
• Prepare and file sales/use tax, property tax, and related workpapers.
• Record month‑end journal entries for tax‑related items.
• Produce weekly tax payment forecasts.
• Assist with IRS and state tax audits, including response preparation and schedule creation.
• Resolve notices from tax authorities.
• Support special tax projects, conduct tax research, and draft internal memoranda.
• Verify general‑ledger tax accounts and collaborate with accounting on journal entries.

Required profile

• Early‑career professional with solid knowledge of accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments.
• Willingness to travel for quarterly in‑person meetings (Greater Los Angeles preferred) and occasional trips to Austin, TX.
