Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Rainfall Health is a fast‑growing health‑tech company building a platform that streamlines clinical workflows and closes care gaps. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with deep experience in AWS Amplify and cloud‑native architectures to design secure, reliable systems that integrate with healthcare data sources.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable web applications using AWS Amplify, serverless services, and modern frontend frameworks.
• Develop robust APIs and backend services with AWS tools such as AppSync, Lambda, DynamoDB, and RDS, ensuring performance, reliability, and security.
• Build and maintain integrations with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech) using FHIR and HL7 standards, and create data ingestion pipelines for clinical data.
• Develop interactive dashboards and visualization tools for clinical and operational users.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and clinical stakeholders, mentor engineers, and enforce HIPAA‑compliant infrastructure and best‑practice security.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building production‑grade applications.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS Amplify and serverless AWS architectures.
• Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (React, Next.js, Vue).
• Experience building and consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Solid understanding of cloud security and handling of sensitive data.
