Research Associate

About the role

The Research Associate will support and lead priority research and learning initiatives within Habitat for Humanity International’s global MEARL team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Research and Learning, the role focuses on strengthening research quality, coordination, and impact across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of the Collective Impact Initiative (CII), including literature reviews, evidence syntheses and report preparation.
• Develop and roll out the common results measurement framework and related guidance, training materials and resources.
• Lead the Research & Learning Pipeline, ensuring coordination of research and evaluation activities across the global network.
• Co‑lead development of Research Minimum Standards and Principles, providing tools and guidance to enhance research quality, ethics and community accountability.
• Manage a structured peer‑review process, including reviewer guidance, quality criteria and integration of feedback.
• Provide technical review and quality assurance for priority research projects, supporting colleagues in applying standards.
• Coordinate with MEARL, Programs, Communications and other teams to manage timelines, consultations and delivery of research products.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in research coordination, literature review and evidence synthesis.
• Familiarity with research standards, ethical considerations and quality assurance processes.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively across global, multidisciplinary teams.
