About the role
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Registered Specialty Nurse specialized in wound and ostomy care to join its clinical staff. The nurse will provide expert assessment, treatment, and education to patients with complex wound and ostomy needs, supporting multidisciplinary teams across the campus.
Key responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and implement wound and ostomy care for inpatient and outpatient populations.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other nurses to develop individualized care plans.
- Document patient progress and outcomes in the electronic health record.
- Provide patient and family education on wound management and ostomy self‑care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training related to wound and ostomy care.
Required profile
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Arkansas.
- Specialty certification or experience in wound, ostomy, or continence care.
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in a fast‑paced hospital environment.
- Commitment to patient safety and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Required skills
- Wound assessment and dressing selection.
- Ostomy appliance fitting and patient education.
- Proficiency with electronic health record documentation.
