Police Officer – Campus Safety (Full-Time)

About the role

The California State University, Fresno Police Department is seeking qualified individuals to join its campus safety team as Police Officers. This full‑time, probationary position protects students, faculty, staff, visitors, and university property while enforcing laws and campus regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol campus buildings, grounds, and surrounding community on foot, motorcycle, bicycle, or vehicle.
• Enforce state laws, university policies, traffic regulations, and parking rules.
• Respond to emergencies, accidents, fires, thefts, vandalism, and disturbances of the peace.
• Investigate incidents, gather evidence, write detailed reports, and testify in court as required.
• Provide first‑aid care, guard or transport cash funds, and assist with crowd control during events.
• Participate in specialized duties such as detective work, field training, defensive tactics instruction, and critical response teams.

Required profile

• Comprehensive knowledge of current law‑enforcement methods, criminal codes, and investigative techniques.
• Ability to write clear reports, make sound judgments, and work independently.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and overtime.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Clean criminal record with no felony convictions.
