About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Nurse Informaticist to join its Clinical Staff – Nursing team. This position blends nursing expertise with health‑information technology to improve patient care, support clinical research, and enhance workflow efficiency across the health system.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with clinicians, IT staff, and administrators to design, implement, and evaluate informatics solutions.
• Analyze clinical data and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, and user guides for health‑IT systems.
• Provide support and education to end‑users on electronic health record (EHR) functionality.
• Participate in quality‑improvement projects and research initiatives that involve data analytics.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with active practice status.
• Experience in clinical settings, preferably with exposure to health‑information systems.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to translate clinical needs into technical specifications.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of nursing informatics principles.
