Maintenance Technician – Level 2

About the role

Stella‑Jones is seeking a Maintenance 2 professional to maintain property, plant and equipment in a productive, efficient and safe manner. The role provides hands‑on experience with a variety of mechanical, electrical and fabrication tasks, and offers a path toward promotion to Maintenance 1.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, service, repair and construct plant processing equipment, including structures, utilities, loaders, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, mechanical and pressure‑vessel work.
• Utilise welding and fabrication tools to alter, repair and fabricate processing equipment.
• Manage inventory of serviceable parts required for equipment maintenance.
• Execute the company’s Preventative Maintenance Program and document work performed.
• Participate in the company safety program and perform other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• One‑year certificate from a college or technical school.
• At least two years of related work experience.
• Ability to perform essential functions with reasonable accommodations if needed.

Required skills

• Experience with hydraulics, electrical systems, pumps and valves.
• Welding and metal fabrication experience, including pipe welding.
• Strong troubleshooting ability.
• Basic mechanical knowledge, preferably in the wood industry.
• Ability to read schematics and electrical drawings.
• Effective communication skills.
