Lead Graphic Designer Intern (Remote)

About the role

MBJ Network, a media production company covering news, entertainment, sports, business and public affairs, is looking for a Lead Graphic Design/Marketing Intern to join its media team. The internship lasts 3 to 6 months and is based remotely, with the goal of gaining hands-on experience in entertainment graphic design through independent tasks. It is a 100% unpaid internship, and executive letters of recommendation are awarded after the contract ends.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the media team to coordinate and implement effective marketing campaigns.
• Assist in managing a team of 1 to 2 graphic designers.
• Help design and develop layouts for marketing materials, using well-organized, appealing graphics.
• Incorporate current design trends into layouts so that promotional material has an up-to-date style.

Required profile

• Working towards a BA or certificate from a Fine Arts program or graphic design school, or relevant experience.
• Ability to use good judgment when interpreting instructions and to judge the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
• Strong written skills and the ability to turn visual ideas from concept to completion.
• Team player who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and welcomes constructive criticism and customer feedback.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator; effective use of Adobe InDesign.
• Knowledge of Mac OS and software upgrades, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
