Junior Electrical Engineer – Networking

About the role

Peraton is seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer to support NASA's Scientific Balloon Program at the Columbia Scientific Balloon Facility in Palestine, TX. The role focuses on the design, integration, and testing of networking equipment and electrical systems used on high‑altitude balloon missions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and document network architectures for balloon payloads, including access control and system topology.
• Support electrical circuits, assemblies, and devices for flight hardware, ground support equipment, and test rigs.
• Perform complex integration and testing of networking and electronic systems, simulating mission configurations in a flatsat environment.
• Plan, manufacture, install, operate, and maintain electrical and networking components for balloon missions.
• Assist with field operations, launches, and recoveries at domestic and international sites.

Required profile

• Junior‑level engineering candidate.
• Willingness to work onsite at the Palestine, TX campus.
• Interest in aerospace or scientific balloon applications.

Required skills

• Experience with networking equipment and network design.
• Knowledge of electrical circuit design and assembly.
• Ability to integrate and test electronic systems.
