Head of Tax

About the role

The organization is creating a new, high‑visibility Head of Tax position to lead tax strategy, operations, and transformation across the Americas. You will move the function from an outsourced, Excel‑heavy model to a modern, in‑house, tech‑enabled tax operation while acting as a trusted business advisor.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all tax matters for the U.S. and LATAM, covering federal, state, and international tax considerations.
• Oversee income tax provision (ASC 740), compliance, and reporting.
• Drive the transition to in‑house tax return preparation and implement automation and technology solutions.
• Partner with finance, operations, and commercial leaders to influence business decisions.
• Manage external advisors, optimize vendor relationships, and lead tax audits.
• Develop strong controls, governance, and mentor the existing tax team while shaping future structure.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive tax experience with deep U.S. federal and multi‑state expertise.
• Extensive experience with ASC 740 and tax provision processes.
• Exposure to international tax concepts such as BEAT, FDII, and transfer pricing.
• Proven track record of process improvement, automation, or bringing tax work in‑house.
• Background in a corporate/in‑house environment; Big 4 experience is ideal.
• Strong leadership with a hands‑on, build‑oriented mindset.
