Head of Finance

About the role

Paces is a fast‑growing startup that builds an AI‑driven development engine for renewable‑energy and infrastructure projects. The Head of Finance will lead the finance function, shaping the company’s financial strategy while supporting the unique financing needs of power‑project development.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the company’s financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, runway planning and scenario modelling.
• Produce monthly and quarterly financial reports (P&L, cash flow, balance sheet, KPIs) and prepare board materials.
• Manage the close process, ensure clean financial statements and coordinate with external accounting partners.
• Oversee cash management, payments, collections, vendor contracts, expense controls and approval workflows.
• Maintain and improve finance systems and tools for accounting, invoicing, billing and reporting dashboards.
• Partner with HR on headcount planning, compensation modelling, equity plan inputs and payroll/benefits coordination.
• Lead finance workstreams for fundraising, including data‑room preparation, metric analysis and narrative support.
• Maintain cap‑table hygiene and support financing and legal processes as needed.

Required profile

• 6+ years of corporate finance experience, preferably in real estate, power development or a related industry.
• Proven ability to make strategic financial decisions with incomplete information.
• Experience balancing short‑term financial needs with long‑term scalability.
