Financial Aid Advisor III – Enrollment Specialist

About the role

The Scholarships & Financial Aid office at Texas A&M University seeks a dedicated Financial Aid Advisor III to serve as an Enrollment Specialist for the Higher Education Center in McAllen. In this role you will counsel current and prospective students and their families on federal, state, institutional scholarships, financial aid, and military education benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Review and advise students on scholarship eligibility, financial aid packages, and military education documentation.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Provide one‑on‑one, group, and presentation‑based counseling sessions.
• Assist with financial literacy initiatives through the Money Education Center.
• Process student aid and veteran benefits for multiple Texas A&M campuses and international sites.
• Occasionally travel for training and outreach events.

Required profile

• Experience in financial aid, scholarships, student employment, or related student services.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent customer service orientation and professional communication.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and outside regular business hours.
• Good standing on all Federal Student Loans.
