Director of Finance Transformation – Record to Report

About the role

The Director, Finance Transformation – Record to Report will lead the finance workstream of Applied Materials' SAP S/4HANA transformation, shaping the future-state close, reporting, costing and control environment. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance Transformation, the role partners with global process owners to translate finance priorities into actionable solution requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and own the end‑to‑end Record‑to‑Report future‑state processes, ensuring alignment with clean‑core principles and SAP S/4HANA standard capabilities.
• Define the future control environment, embed automated controls, and maintain SOX/ICFR coverage throughout the transition.
• Drive finance automation and AI/ML initiatives across close, reconciliation and reporting, delivering measurable cycle‑time reductions.
• Run the R2R workstream – planning, budgeting, risk management, testing, cut‑over and hyper‑care – while providing transparent status reporting to executive governance forums.
• Lead change management, stakeholder communication, training and post‑go‑live adoption for finance users worldwide.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Extensive Record‑to‑Report and controls expertise combined with hands‑on SAP S/4HANA transformation delivery experience.
• Proven ability to influence senior finance, technology and data leaders in a global, dynamic environment.
