About the role
The Director Commercial Sales, Specialty Retail will shape the growth strategy for a key beauty partnership, driving sales, market share and profitability. This senior leader will bridge internal brand teams with the retailer, ensuring seamless execution of marketing, supply chain and digital initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Lead all account activities including sell‑in, forecasting and product lifecycle management.
- Own the P&L for sales and promotional spend, optimizing ROI and meeting profit targets.
- Serve as the primary liaison to the retailer, conducting business reviews and joint planning.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams (marketing, demand planning, supply chain, finance, retail media) for flawless launches and promotions.
- Drive merchandising excellence by influencing planograms, fixture placement and high‑visibility displays.
- Design and execute high‑impact promotions, exclusive app offers and loyalty program activations.
- Analyze post‑promotion data to refine sell‑in/sell‑thru strategies and report insights to senior leadership.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree with 6–9 years of progressive sales and business management experience in beauty or prestige retail.
- Proven record of sustainable growth in fast‑paced retail environments.
- Strong presentation, negotiation and stakeholder‑influence abilities.
- Analytical mindset with experience in budgeting, forecasting and competitive analysis.
- Deep understanding of the Sephora guest journey and ability to translate consumer insights into compelling product and messaging strategies.
- Self‑starter with agility to lead cross‑functional initiatives.
