Design Engineer – Mechanical CAD & Injection Molding

About the role

As a Design Engineer you will own the detailed design and development of mechanical components and assemblies from concept through production release. This CAD‑intensive position focuses on creating parts that are beautiful, functional, and manufacturable.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings in Onshape for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Design parts for injection molding and CNC machining, maintaining clean, parametric CAD architecture.
• Lead DFM reviews, resolve draft, wall‑thickness, sink, warp, parting line, and gate issues.
• Manage the full tooling development process: RFQ, vendor selection, tool design review, sampling, and first‑article approval.
• Coordinate with tooling vendors across time zones, track progress, and drive issue resolution.
• Collaborate with industrial designers, electrical/system engineers, quality, and manufacturing teams to integrate components and define inspection criteria.

Required profile

• Experience designing mechanical components for injection molding and CNC machining.
• Proficiency in creating detailed CAD models and drawings with GD&T.
• Ability to conduct DFM analysis and support prototype, EVT/DVT, and production builds.
• Strong communication skills for cross‑functional and vendor collaboration.
