Production Associate – Apparel Manufacturing

About the role

Sweet Apparel Inc. is seeking a full‑time Production Associate to join its New York manufacturing floor. You will support day‑to‑day production activities, operate equipment, and help maintain the high quality and on‑time delivery standards the brand is known for.

Key responsibilities

• Operate machinery and assist in line set‑up to keep production flowing smoothly.
• Monitor and enforce quality‑control standards throughout each stage of garment creation.
• Maintain documentation for lab dips, strike‑offs, bulk fabrics, and sample tracking.
• Serve as a liaison between design, development, and overseas vendors to ensure timely deliveries.
• Generate and update Work‑In‑Progress (WIP) reports for fit, PP, and TOP samples.
• Create and manage purchase orders using the Quantum system, with on‑the‑job training provided.
• Assist with approval of care labels, hang tags, price tickets, and other trim requirements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1‑2 years of apparel production experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills for coordination across design, development, and vendor teams.
• Basic knowledge of garment construction and industry terminology (lab dips, strike‑offs, bulk fabric, proto, fit, PP).
• Familiarity with major retail accounts such as TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross, or Burlington is a plus.
