Customer Service Representative (Level 1)

About the role

The Department of Pathology Administration at the University of Miami is seeking a full-time Customer Service Representative 1 to join its on-site team in Miami, FL. In this role you will be the first point of contact for patients, clients and internal stakeholders, handling inquiries, complaints and service requests through multiple channels.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, review and respond to general inquiries, service requests and complaints via face-to-face, email, fax, telephone or regular mail.
• Research each inquiry, resolve routine issues, and communicate solutions or required information to the requester.
• Document all interactions, including details of the issue and the final resolution, in the designated database.
• Escalate unresolved or complex grievances to department leadership for further review.
• Handle confidential information with discretion and ensure compliance with university policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of relevant customer-service experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
