Certified Medical Assistant – Ambulatory Float

About the role

This position provides individualized medical care to assigned patients in person, electronically, and via telephone under the supervision of a licensed health‑care provider. The Medical Assistant supports both patients and providers throughout the visit, ensuring smooth flow and accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Supports the patient and provider throughout the patient visit.
• Ensures the patient and provider are prepared for the visit and that patient questions are answered before discharge.
• Provides excellent patient service through effective communication both over the phone and in person.
• Completes appropriate documentation, including patient registration when necessary.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED; completion of a formal medical assistant training program preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience handling confidential information in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Medical Assistant Certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Clinical knowledge and proficiency with electronic health record systems.
• Computer proficiency with software and web‑based applications.
