Buyer II

About the role

As a Buyer, you’ll be responsible for purchasing the materials, supplies, machinery, and services that equip Applied Materials’ state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities. You’ll collaborate across teams, monitor inventory, manage delivery scheduling, negotiate with suppliers, and procure essential items that turn possibilities into realities for customers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity to enable manufacturing with speed and quality.
• Follow up on orders, verify delivery, approve payment and maintain necessary records.
• Adhere to standard purchasing business processes.
• Proactively drive timely delivery/shipment of parts and resolve shipment, receiving and billing issues.
• Partner with suppliers on demand/supply collaboration and manage pull‑ins/push‑outs to meet MRP demand.
• Drive inventory and excess & obsolescence reduction efforts.
• Negotiate and execute purchases and RFQs to achieve lowest cost while maintaining quality and reliability.
• Resolve supply issues with engineering, manufacturing and program managers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 1‑2 years of related procurement experience.
• Understanding of industry’s key business drivers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to explain complex information.
