Business Development Manager – Italian Specialty

About the role

The Business Development Manager will drive sales growth for Italian specialty products within the foodservice sector. The role focuses on acquiring new multi‑unit group accounts, retaining platinum‑level customers, and re‑activating lost accounts. You will work closely with sales teams and transportation to maximize market coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new foodservice channels using a multi‑faceted research approach.
• Collaborate with sales staff to target opportunities and meet budgeted sales goals.
• Create customized, goal‑oriented plans for each prospect and close high‑value deals.
• Maintain relationships with key decision‑makers and oversee accounts after hand‑off to sales.
• Analyze menus, order guides, and purchase trends to generate actionable customer recommendations.

Required profile

• 4‑year degree in Business or related field (preferred).
• 5‑7 years of progressive food‑service sales experience.
• Proven high‑closing ability and strong negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
