Android Engineer

About the role

Wealthfront is seeking an Android Engineer to join a cross‑functional scrum team building new investment and cash account features for its Android app. You will contribute to a high‑quality, automated development environment while helping make investing easy and understandable for users.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain native Android application components.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to deliver new features and improve existing ones.
• Write automated unit tests and ensure code is testable.
• Integrate with in‑house design systems and RESTful backend APIs.
• Participate in code reviews, mentorship, and technical guidance for peers.
• Help define team priorities and initiatives with leadership.

Required profile

• 2–6 years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently, unblock issues, and meet schedules.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Java or Kotlin.
• Experience with Android SDK and performance optimization tools.
• Knowledge of unit testing and writing testable code.
• Familiarity with REST API integration.
• Understanding of Material Design principles.
