Workplace Facilities Engineer – Onsite Manhattan

About the role

The Workplace Facilities Engineer will operate and maintain mechanical and critical equipment across three Santander offices in Manhattan. This role ensures reliable building operations, supports space planning and renovation projects, and manages budgets and vendor relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage occupancy, construction, relocation, and renovation of facilities.
• Oversee cost estimation, contractor supervision, and budget control.
• Provide full facilities support, including preventive and reactive maintenance of HVAC, UPS/Generators, fire systems, elevators, and janitorial services.
• Collaborate with business leaders on space planning, workflow, and future property allocation.
• Develop asset lifecycle and replacement plans and maintain vendor records.
• Prepare management reports, develop business cases, and monitor departmental budgets.
• Lead maintenance programs, define scopes, SLAs, and quality control.
• Implement process improvements and lead budget forecasting and monthly accruals.
• Coach team members, set goals, and conduct performance evaluations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in commercial property management.
• Familiarity with critical equipment such as CRACS, ATS, generators, PreAction/Novec systems, independent HVAC units, and Building Management Systems.
• Experience working in a corporate environment, preferably banking or financial services.
