Wireless Research Engineer

About the role

Join Bosch's Wireless Sensor and Embedded Systems group to lead applied research on next‑generation communication and sensing systems. You will create intelligent wireless solutions that combine advanced signal processing with AI/ML to impact mobility, consumer, industrial, and energy applications worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Drive applied research in next‑generation wireless communication and sensing.
• Design and develop innovative wireless solutions with a focus on signal processing and AI/ML.
• Implement software prototypes to demonstrate proof‑of‑concept concepts.
• Perform performance analysis, feasibility studies, simulations, and experimental validation.
• Monitor state‑of‑the‑art developments in academia, industry, and standards (e.g., ZigBee, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, UWB).
• Present research results to management and cross‑functional teams.
• Translate innovative ideas from scouting to funded projects.
• Publish patents and conference/journal papers.
• Collaborate in a diverse, international, and cross‑disciplinary environment.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in wireless communication, signal processing, and machine learning.
• Hands‑on experience with wireless sensing techniques such as RSSI, ToF, CSI, and CIR.
• Proficiency with machine‑learning libraries and tools.
• Familiarity with wireless standards (IEEE 802.11x, 802.15.4, BLE).
