About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a pre‑selected medical student to join Dr. Mitch McGill’s laboratory as a Visiting Student. This short‑term, on‑site research experience supports the university’s mission of education, research, and patient‑centered care.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in ongoing laboratory projects under the supervision of Dr. McGill.
  • Perform experimental procedures, data collection, and analysis as directed.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to weekly research meetings.

Required profile

  • Current enrollment in a medical school.
  • Authorization to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
  • Full COVID‑19 vaccination or an approved exemption.
