Vice President Finance

About the role

Blue Harlan is seeking a strategic, operationally focused Vice President of Finance to lead financial planning, analysis, reporting, and operational finance. This senior leader will partner closely with the CFO and the executive team to drive profitability, working‑capital efficiency, and scalable growth across a complex, inventory‑driven organization.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with growth and profitability goals.
• Lead enterprise‑wide planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning processes.
• Provide strategic decision support for pricing, customer profitability, capital allocation, inventory investment, and operational initiatives.
• Translate financial and operational data into actionable business insights and recommendations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing finance organization covering FP&A, operational finance, and business analytics.
• Oversee all FP&A activities, including monthly forecasting, variance analysis, KPI reporting, and executive‑level presentations.
• Drive visibility into gross margin, SKU profitability, customer/channel profitability, freight costs, labor productivity, and inventory performance.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Sales to improve financial and operational performance.
• Lead initiatives focused on working‑capital optimization, inventory management, and cash‑flow improvement.
• Enhance financial systems, reporting infrastructure, and data‑analytics capabilities to improve scalability and decision‑making.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in manufacturing, CPG, industrial services/products, wholesale, distribution, logistics, or retail supply‑chain‑intensive environments.
• Strong understanding of high‑volume, low‑margin operating models.
• Proven ability to balance strategic financial leadership with hands‑on operational engagement.
• Track record of building and scaling finance functions in complex, multi‑site organizations.
