About the role

The Facilities Management Division of Orange County Government is hiring a Trades Technician III specialized in plumbing for its West District. The position focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing components for potable water, wastewater, and septic systems, ensuring reliable service across county facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair pipes, fixtures, and related plumbing components.
• Work on potable water, wastewater, and septic system infrastructure.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on water distribution systems.
• Collaborate with staff, vendors, and contractors to ensure high‑quality workmanship.
• Provide guidance and training to lower‑level technicians as needed.

Required profile

• Journeyman‑level plumber with a valid state plumbing license.
• Experience with potable water, wastewater, and septic system installations and repairs.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision.
• Commitment to safety, professionalism, and high service standards.
