Trades Technician III – Sign-On Incentive

About the role

The Facilities Management Division of Orange County Government is seeking a skilled Trades Technician III to join the team at the 33rd Street Maintenance office. This journeyman‑level position offers a $1,000 sign‑on incentive and the stability of a public‑sector career.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480 V, including lighting, power distribution, panels, motors, fire alarms and generators.
• Perform multi‑trade work in plumbing, HVAC, locksmithing, carpentry, masonry, audio, telecommunications, and landscaping as needed.
• Conduct building inspections to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Collaborate with staff, vendors, and contractors to deliver high‑quality service.
• Provide guidance, scheduling, and training to lower‑level technicians.

Required profile

• Journeyman‑level experience in at least one of the listed trades.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
• Commitment to safety, professionalism, and customer service.
