Test Operator

About the role

Venus Aerospace is seeking a Test Operator to support propulsion and systems testing. You will work on hot‑fire, structural, vibration and thermal test campaigns, ensuring safe and reliable execution.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute propulsion hot‑fire, structural, vibration, thermal and other test campaigns.
• Operate and monitor test stand systems, propulsion hardware and instrumentation.
• Lead test procedures, maintaining compliance with engineering requirements and safety standards.
• Author, review and refine detailed test procedures and analyze test data for performance.
• Collaborate with technicians to troubleshoot instrumentation issues and improve reliability.
• Support setup, upgrades, maintenance and breakdown of test stands for future readiness.
• Serve as liaison between test, propulsion, manufacturing and technician teams.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in a hardware testing environment (including recognized rocket club experience).
• Hands‑on knowledge of test components such as valves, pneumatic actuators, solenoids, limit switches, relief valves, pressure transducers, thermocouples, pressure vessels, GUIs/HMIs and data acquisition systems.
• Ability to read P&IDs and understand gas and fluid flow.
• Proficiency in basic instrumentation tasks like wire cutting, crimping and soldering.
• Strong problem‑solving, organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.
• Clear communication skills, including use of communications devices while operating consoles.
• Ability to work outdoors as needed, lift up to 25 lb and perform extended desk work.
