Systems Administrator – Linux & Cloud Operations

About the role

The Systems Administrator will install, configure, and maintain Oceaneering’s server operating systems, virtualization platforms, identity management, and cloud tools. The focus is on Linux support with occasional Windows server duties.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and implement Linux server and desktop operating systems (Ubuntu, Red Hat) and related tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated Level II/III support tickets across server and end‑user environments.
• Contribute to patch management, backup/restore processes, and systems monitoring.
• Lead or support major IT projects and act as technical lead when required.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and after‑hours support.
• Create documentation, provide training, and mentor department members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of enterprise Linux administration (Ubuntu, Red Hat).
• At least 7 years of scripting and automation experience (Bash, Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Puppet, Kickstart).
• 5+ years managing vSphere or Azure hypervisors in multi‑site environments.
• 5+ years with containerization and orchestration (AKS, Docker, Kubernetes).
