Student Shadower (Observational Experience)

About the role

The Student Shadower program offers a short‑term, observation‑only experience for individuals aged 16 and older who are interested in exploring healthcare careers. Participants will spend time in approved UAMS settings, watching faculty and staff while adhering to strict confidentiality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Observe UAMS employees or faculty members in approved clinical or research environments.
• Maintain confidentiality, safety, and professional conduct at all times.
• Follow department‑approved timeframes and guidelines for the observation period.
• Refrain from any hands‑on patient care or duties reserved for UAMS staff.

Required profile

• Age 16 + and interested in a career in healthcare.
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of participation.
• Full Covid‑19 vaccination or an approved medical/religious exemption.
• Willingness to comply with UAMS policies and confidentiality requirements.
