Structural Engineer

About the role

HDR is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its Building Engineering Services Group. You will design critical infrastructure for high‑performance data centers, commercial facilities, and other complex buildings, supporting technological advancement, sustainability, and human experience.

Key responsibilities

• Perform building gravity and lateral analysis and design steel, concrete, and masonry systems.
• Model building elements in Revit and develop structural drawings and specifications.
• Design engineering systems for large, complex projects in health, civic, education, and science/technology sectors.
• Review structural documents for conflicts, coordinate resolutions with other disciplines, and mentor junior staff.
• Prepare calculations, interpret code provisions, and conduct quality‑control reviews.
• Respond to RFIs, change proposals, shop‑drawing reviews, and change orders throughout construction.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• Professional Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred; local candidates given preference.

Required skills

• Building gravity and lateral analysis.
• Design of steel, concrete, and masonry structural systems.
• Proficiency with Revit for structural modeling.
