Store Design Manager

About the role

The Store Design Manager leads end‑to‑end retail store development projects across the United States, ensuring each store is delivered on time, within budget, and to Uniqlo’s brand standards. This role works closely with Real Estate, Store Development, architects, contractors and external vendors to turn concepts into operational stores.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of store design projects, from feasibility studies to final handover.
• Develop store layouts, fixture plans and construction drawing packages.
• Coordinate architectural, interior‑design and engineering requirements, ensuring compliance with landlord criteria and local jurisdictional codes.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, and quality controls, collaborating with external project‑management firms and the real‑estate team.
• Review MEPF consultant drawings for brand‑standard compliance and manage permitting processes.
• Lead site walkthroughs, identify risks, resolve on‑site issues and ensure safety, quality and code requirements are met.
• Conduct final inspections with construction managers and prepare post‑project analyses.

Required profile

• Strong project‑management experience in retail store development.
• Technical design knowledge covering architecture, interior design and engineering.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
• Familiarity with local building codes and landlord handover standards.
• Proven track record of delivering projects on budget and schedule.
