Staff Process Controls Engineer

About the role

Delek US Holdings is seeking a Staff Process Controls Engineer to design, configure, and deploy advanced APC (Advanced Process Control) and RTO (Real‑Time Optimizer) applications across its refining assets. The role focuses on improving unit stability, throughput, and economic performance while ensuring safe and reliable operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, commissioning, and long‑term support of inferential controls, data analysis, model development, and controller tuning for APC and RTO systems.
• Maintain and optimize in‑service APC and control system applications to ensure stable, safe, and reliable operations.
• Evaluate controller performance and process behavior under normal and transient conditions.
• Identify and implement technically and economically viable sustainment solutions, including control strategy enhancements, model updates, and specification changes.
• Collaborate closely with Operations, Process Engineering, IT/OT, and vendors to design, test, and implement robust APC/RTO solutions.
• Monitor application performance, develop KPIs, and recommend modifications to improve reliability and uptime.

Required profile

• Strong background in process control engineering within the energy or refining sector.
• Experience with APC and Real‑Time Optimizer technologies.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with operations, engineering, and IT teams.
• Proven problem‑solving skills and a focus on continuous improvement.
