Solutions Engineer

About the role

As a Solutions Engineer at DataPelago you will act as the trusted technical advisor for enterprises adopting next‑generation AI and analytics infrastructure. You will bridge breakthrough technology with real‑world customer environments, helping them transform data processing economics at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Deep‑dive into customer infrastructures to assess current data processing architectures, identify bottlenecks, and design integration strategies for DataPelago solutions.
• Architect comprehensive technical solutions that integrate DataPelago products with Open Table Formats (Iceberg, Delta Lake, Hudi) and existing Spark, Python, Scala, Java, and AI/ML frameworks.
• Guide customer technical teams through proof‑of‑concept implementations, performance benchmarking, and production deployment planning, including workshops and training sessions.
• Act as the voice of the customer to product, sales, and marketing teams, surfacing common technical challenges and influencing the product roadmap.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in pre‑ or post‑sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting focused on data and analytics.
• Deep expertise in Lakehouse architectures and Open Table Formats (Iceberg, Delta Lake, Hudi) with modern data‑engineering patterns.
• Hands‑on technical sales experience with Apache Spark, Python, Scala, Java, and AI/ML frameworks, including performance optimization.
• Strong public‑cloud knowledge (AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience onboarding enterprise customers.
• Exceptional communication skills for documenting architectures, whiteboarding, and delivering technical presentations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
