Solar Site Superintendent - Mechanical Foreman

About the role
Charge Robotics is an early‑stage startup building robots that construct utility‑scale solar farms. As the Solar Site Superintendent – Mechanical Foreman you will be the on‑site authority for all mechanical construction activities while collaborating closely with robotics and automation engineers.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and direct foremen and craft labor, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality execution of tracker/racking assembly and module installation.
- Plan and coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor resources to maximize production while controlling costs.
- Partner with robotics engineers to deploy automated installation equipment, providing real‑world feasibility feedback and championing adoption of new tools.
- Champion a culture of safety by enforcing OSHA, EPC, and company regulations, managing training for high‑risk activities such as crane and telehandler operations.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading mechanical construction on utility‑scale solar EPC projects (pile, racking/tracker, module installation).
- Ability to supervise large, multi‑crew field operations and manage diverse subcontractors.
- Strong knowledge of tools, heavy equipment, and their safe application on solar construction sites.
- Competent in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Understanding of job‑costing principles and ability to track cost performance.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local construction codes and safety regulations.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable record and willingness to travel up to 80‑90% of the time.
