Software Engineer

About the role

North is building a next‑generation cloud spend management platform that gives companies real‑time visibility and control over their cloud finances. As a Software Engineer on the product team, you will create new features, maintain existing services, and help shape the architecture that powers a financial operating system for the cloud.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Python micro‑services that deliver core product functionality.
• Develop product features that manage large‑scale cloud spend and generate cost savings for customers.
• Handle data efficiently at runtime, making decisions about performance, memory, and latency.
• Create reusable service layers, libraries, and abstractions for cross‑team use.
• Propose and implement architectural solutions for new features.
• Write comprehensive tests and establish guardrails to enable fast, safe development.
• Maintain and refactor existing systems as product requirements evolve.
• Collaborate closely with product, platform, and AI/ML teams, shifting focus as priorities change.

Required profile

• 3–7 years of software engineering experience building and shipping production systems.
• Strong expertise in Python development.
• Ability to work in a fast‑moving startup environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
