Software Engineer

About the role

Blank Bio is an applied AI research lab that builds RNA foundation models to improve clinical trial outcomes. We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the core engineering systems that support our research and product pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and operate benchmarking infrastructure for clinically relevant model evaluation.
• Containerize training, evaluation, and inference workloads to run consistently across environments, including air‑gapped partner sites.
• Create and maintain data pipelines and internal tools that transform raw RNA‑seq data through preprocessing, quality control, and result delivery.
• Build inference services that enable partners to run our models on their own datasets.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience delivering production‑grade software systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and container orchestration, including troubleshooting complex build and deployment issues.
• Track record of owning services end‑to‑end—from design and implementation to deployment, monitoring, on‑call support, and long‑term maintenance.
• Experience building APIs or tools that expose machine‑learning models to engineers, scientists, or customers.
