Shipyard Operator – Material Handling & Equipment

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a skilled Operator to support shipyard production. You will handle the movement, storage, and preparation of materials and equipment used in autonomous maritime projects, ensuring safe and efficient workflow.

Key responsibilities

• Read production schedules, work orders, and shipping requisitions to determine material movements.
• Load, unload, stack, and stage products using forklifts, pallet jacks, clamp trucks, cherry pickers, cranes, or other power equipment.
• Position lifting devices around pallets, skids, boxes, and transport loads to designated areas.
• Prepare products for shipment, verifying quantities and types.
• Perform daily inspections, maintenance, and refueling of all equipment.
• Identify hazards, issue safe work permits, and work safely aloft and in confined spaces.
• Collaborate with welders, fitters, pipefitters, electricians, and other trades to maintain efficient vessel construction.

Required profile

• Ability to work at heights on scaffolds or manlifts and in confined spaces.
• Commitment to shipyard safety policies, PPE use, fire prevention, and HSE standards.
• Willingness to train and support junior operators.
