Service Technician – Fieldstone (Student Living)

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Service Technician to support the Fieldstone student‑living community in Amherst. The role focuses on maintaining the physical condition, safety, and functionality of apartments, common areas, and amenities.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing according to policies and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Assist with grounds and common‑area upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning, and painting of curbs and signage.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever feasible.
• Participate in safety meetings and complete required OSHA and risk‑management training.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose mechanical and technical problems and perform repairs safely.
• Experience with preparing vacant apartments for new occupants.
• Strong organizational skills for inventory management and documentation.
• Willingness to follow safety protocols and attend required training.
