Senior Substation Electrical Superintendent

About the role

The Senior Substation Electrical Superintendent provides senior‑level field leadership for utility‑scale solar, BESS, and substation projects. This position oversees all electrical construction activities, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule compliance across the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Lead forepersons, craft personnel, subcontractors, and specialty contractors performing medium‑ and high‑voltage work.
• Develop and execute detailed construction plans, including methods, manpower loading, equipment, material quantities, temporary power, sequencing, labor budgets, and productivity targets.
• Supervise installation of cable systems, duct banks, cable trays, conduit, underground infrastructure, grounding grids, lightning protection, transformers, breakers, disconnect switches, reclosers, capacitors, reactors, steel structures, buswork, and insulators.
• Coordinate testing, energization readiness, and interface management with utilities, owners, engineers, and commissioning teams.
• Maintain safety as the highest priority and ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in substation construction and medium/high‑voltage electrical work.
• Proven ability to lead large field teams and manage multiple subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of utility‑scale solar and BESS project requirements.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the United States.
